Alan Shimel

Managing Partner

As Chief Executive Officer at The CISO Group, Alan Shimel is responsible for driving the vision and mission of the company. Prior to The CISO Group, Alan was the Chief Strategy Officer at StillSecure, where he guided the company in bringing innovative and effective networking and security solutions to the marketplace. Leading StillSecure’s efforts in products, sales and go to market strategy, Shimel was the public persona of StillSecure as it grew from start up to helping defend some of the largest and most sensitive networks in the world, including many in the US Armed Forces.

Shimel is an often-cited personality in the security community and is a sought-after speaker at industry and government conferences and events. His commentary about the state of security is followed closely by many industry insiders via his blog and podcast, "Ashimmy, After All These Years" . Alan is now also a regular contributor to The CISO Group’s Security.exe blog and podcast.

Alan has helped build several successful technology companies by combining a strong business background with a deep knowledge of technology. His legal background, long experience in the field, and New York street smarts combine to form a unique personality.

Prior to co-founding StillSecure, Mr. Shimel has had a wide range of business experiences. He was SVP of Sales and Business Development of Cachier® a manufacturer of network acceleration appliances. Prior to that, he was VP of Business Development at Interliant® where in a little more than 3 years he was instrumental in forging relationships and strategic partnerships with such industry players as, Dell Computer®; Verisign®; Microsoft®; IBM®; Cisco®; and EMC®. He was also a key team member while Interliant acquired 27 companies and completed a successful IPO. A pioneer in the Internet industry, Shimel was one of the founders of TriStar Web®, a NYC-based, early leader in Web hosting, that was acquired by Sage Networks®, which later became Interliant.

Mr. Shimel is a graduate of St. Johns University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics, and holds a JD degree from NY Law School.

Parker Yates

Managing Partner

As a Managing Partner at The CISO Group, Parker is responsible for driving the company’s revenue stream and profitability. Prior to The CISO Group, Parker has held a variety of key roles in organizations large and small. Parker was an Executive Vice President of Protegrity Inc., an Enterprise Data Security Management Company. At Protegrity, Parker was responsible for directing and guiding the company through its early stages, creating the companies first revenue streams. At General Electric Capital Corporation, Information Systems Division, Parker was Vice President of the Northeast Region. At GE, Parker led his team and was responsible for driving revenue and profitability to record levels. Parker was also a VP of sales at Interliant, a pioneer in the application service provider market (the cloud before they called it the cloud) and managed security services. Parker was a key member of the team while Interliant acquired over 25 companies culminating in a successful IPO. In fact, Parker has helped many companies throughout their lifecyles from start up to industry leadership.

Parker is an often-cited personality in the business community and is a sought-after speaker at sales and motivational conferences and events. Parker’s ability to drive a business and motivate people is unsurpassed. Parker has begun sharing his contagious enthusiasm in his new Blog “Straight Biz Talk”.

In his highly successful career Parker has had a wide range of experiences and positions. The consistent theme at each organization was record results and revenues He was Managing Partner for Total Recall Corporation, a citywide surveillance company. Parker was the CEO of Cellhire, an international wireless company headquartered in New York City. At Cellhire Parker guided the company through the September 11, 2001 turmoil, while continuing to grow the business. . Parker was responsible for multiple locations in the Northeast for NYNEX (Verizon) Business Centers and achieved record results there as well. His foundation in the Information Technology Industry came early in his career when he was with IBM Corporation and AT&T.
